Hi there! I’m Jille.

Pronounced “Jill”

Brand photoshoot in Auckland, New Zealand for a wedding photographer.

“Reina Jille” is my two first names. I don’t get called that in real life, but I thought it would be a nice name for something so close to my heart. I was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, and in 2015, I moved with my family to Auckland, New Zealand. Two years later, I met a loving, kind man, to whom I am now married.

My cinematic style of photography is inspired by drama and how cinematography can affect storytelling. I am naturally reflective and emotional, feeling things deeply, and that’s what I tend to convey in my photography. My editing is a crucial step in the process of storytelling and bringing out the emotion displayed in every image. This is why I gravitate towards people, mainly documenting weddings and families — the joy of togetherness, the bittersweet nature of fleeting time.

Most importantly, I am a Christian. I admit I don’t talk about my faith enough, but I hope my work reflects that faith. I grew up in Sunday school and was exposed to Biblical truths at an early age, but I only took it seriously sometime after university, after much internal turmoil, digging through the Bible, and speaking with reliable mentors and friends. By God’s grace, I believe that He died and has paid for my sins on the cross, was resurrected, and is now doing a good work in me.

I’m absolutely delighted to share my passion for photography, the people I have had the pleasure of working with, and to be able to share bits and pieces of my story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
